Absolutely not. There is no limitation in terms of the challenge your proposal addresses provided that its purpose is to connect and strengthen the bond between world Jewry and Israel.  Likewise, there is no budget limitation on your initiative. We are seeking fresh, innovative initiatives to address a significant challenge.

If you are the Winning Applicant, you hereby assign to us all right, title and interest in the ideas submitted to us during the Application process and Competition and all matter disclosed in your Application (other than the personal information set forth therein). In addition, to the extent the assignment above is not effective or enforceable, you hereby grant us an exclusive license to review, develop, commercialize and exploit the Submission and ideas submitted to us during the Application process and Competition.  Following the announcement of the Winning Application, if you are the Winning Applicant, you hereby grant us an exclusive, irrevocable, freely sublicensable and assignable, worldwide, royalty-free license to develop, use, modify in any manner, commercialize, implement and exploit the Winning Application for any and all purposes, without obligation to you of any kind other than payment of the Award.  See Global Connection Competition Terms and Conditions.

The SonShine Foundation will be granted, and are hereby granted, by all Applicants, an exclusive license to review, develop, commercialize and exploit the ideas submitted to us during the Application process and Competition, including “No-Shop” rights up until the announcement of the Winning Application, and 6 months thereafter.  See Global Connection Competition Terms and Conditions.

SonShine will attempt, but does not guarantee, to implement the winning proposal.  The individual or team responsible for the winning proposal will be given credit for their work.

SonShine will work to the best of its ability, but does not guarantee, to implement the winning proposal.

Voting will be open to the public.  Prior to the public vote, a group of judges will score the the final three proposals.  A weighted average of the judges' scores and the public vote will yield a winner.

Yes. For this reason, Advisory Committee members and Panel of Three Judges will not be evaluating the submissions from within their networks. Put differently, if an Advisory Committee member or a member of the Judges Panel is a board member, staff member or alum of an affiliated program, s/he will not evaluate initiative submissions from members of that same affiliated program.

Sure! We hope that by promoting the initiative, voters will make a more informed vote.

Sure! Brainstorming, discussion, arguments – whatever it takes to come up with a great initiative. However, please note that all intellectual property provisions in the Terms and Conditions would apply to all applicants

The project must be a new initiative – not part of an existing organization or initiative. This is to pre-empt any possible intellectual property/ownership conflicts.
