HOW IT WORKS

The SonShine Foundation is looking to implement and actualize an idea that strengthens the bond between world Jewry and Israel.
The question is: What can we do to unify the Jewish people not just at a time of crisis but in ordinary times when we can dream, aspire, and strengthen ourselves together?
Do you have a novel idea?
Give us a proposal for an original and innovative initiative and we will strive to implement it.
The winning proposal will be awarded $10,000 from the SonShine Foundation.

How to Submit a Proposal:

There are two rounds of submissions.  In both rounds, submissions may be made in any of six languages:
Hebrew, Spanish, French, German, Russian, or English.
Round 1:
Click Apply Now to fill out a form that asks for some personal information and a brief description of the challenge you are addressing, your proposed solution, and the number of people who will benefit from it. The proposal deadline is March 14, 2019.
Round 2:
Those invited to participate in the next round are required to complete more detailed information. The deadline for this more extensive application is
March 31, 2019.

How Will the Competition be Judged?

There are three stages in the judging process.
In Stage 1, a team of professionals will do the first level of screening based on a set of criteria (see What’s a Great Initiative?).
In Stage 2, an Advisory Committee of Jewish representatives from around the world will recommend three finalists.
In Stage 3, we will open the voting to the public to select a winning proposal.
The public voting will take place in May-June, 2019.
A panel of three judges will also nominate a winner.  A weighted score of the public’s scores and those of the three judges will yield a winner.
Good Luck!
